On Friday the year 7 and 8's at school took a trip to Jellie Park. Jellie Park is a big outdoor and indoor swimming pool, but we only got to go to the outdoor one. Outside there were three hydroslides; two of them were the same but there was another one too. The two different types of hydroslides were: a really fast slide and a slower, twisty slide. At the start of the day I went firstly in the pool, then I went on the hydroslide with some of my friends. I'm not going to explain the whole day in detail but I pretty much just kept going back and forth from the pool to the hydroslide, occasionally getting food to eat and walking around the pool. It was really fun but I got sunburnt quite a bit.
I was a pupil at Rāwhiti School and this blog is where I shared my learning. This blog has been archived, no further content will be uploaded or added. You are welcome to continue viewing posts, however commenting has been disabled.

Tessellations
Today in maths we got to learn about tessellations. A tessellation is when you have lots of the same shape put together, and there are no gaps. I had to make three pages of tessellations, each with different shapes.
Here are my tessellations:

Maths
Today in maths we focused on more rotation. We got to go on a site to practise rotating shapes and we had to answer questions to make sure we understood what we were learning. Here is the site we were on: https://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/rotation.html
I thought the site was easy to use but the questions were confusing and I couldn't quite see the answers I was chosing from.

A & P Show Update!
A & P Show Update
Here is an update on how my A & P show projects are going. For the A & P show I am expected to enter at least 1, possibly 2, entries into the A & P show, and I have entered 3. I am really happy with myself because art the start I didn't know what to enter. This brings me to what I actually am doing. I have entered, driftwood art, pet photography and animal cupcakes/cookies. I am doing the driftwood art and pet photography by myself but the cookies I am doing with 4 other people. The animal cookies we are doing is donkey and pig faces. We are going to make the cookies at school, a couple of days before the actual show but we still need to figure out what we need for the pigs faces and we need to figure out a time to go to the supermarket and get the actual ingredients. The flavours we are doing for the cookies are chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. Here are some of the designs we are thinking of doing.
Here are some of my ideas for my driftwood art:
And here are my pet photography ideas:
Sitting in the bushes
Putting his paws up on the bench
Lying on his bed
Lying on his bed with his kong
I could get him to sit in the sun
I am excited for the A & P show!
