Converting between fractions, decimals, tenths and percent

Why 80/100, 0.8, 8/10, ⅘ and 80% all show the same value.
I have shaded 80 out of the 100 squares in this table.
If you have something out of 100 it is written as a percentage.
Since this is 80 squares shaded, it is written as 80%. 80% is equal to 80/100’s.

In this picture I have split the grid into tenths.
There is still the same amount as the last picture but it is just a different way of showing it.
Each column with ten squares is 1 tenth.
Here I have shaded 8 columns which means there are 8 tenths. 8 tenths is another way of saying 0.8 or 8/10.

In this grid I have split the squares into 5 different groups.
These groups are called fifths, and here I have 4 groups shaded which is written as ⅘.
