My Careers Inquiry

In week 1 of the second term I did a 78 question quiz with questions about how much we would like to work around animals, helping other people, working with machines and other questions. At the end of the quiz it gave me 100 jobs that would fit me from my answers. I then needed to narrow the jobs down to 5 jobs which was pretty hard. My 5 jobs were Police Officer, Early Childhood Teacher, Physiotherapist, Nutritionist and a Paramedic. I really wanted to help people so I decided to be a Physiotherapist which helps peoples muscles, nerve problems and disabilities.

Then I got given a sheet of what to research and present. At the end I figured out about the pay, working conditions, qualifications and lots more. I had presented a slideshow, poster and brochures. I had also figured out that my three strengths Achiever, Organizer and Presence could help me in physiotherapy by organizing when I can see people, achieving what I wanted to finish and taking the lead by giving the patients exercises and stretches.

Then at the careers expo for the year sixes I got asked questions about how physiotherapists fix peoples injuries, nerve disabilities and other problems. I also gave away brochures for the year sixes to read over and they looked at my slideshow. What I found hard was waiting while no-one was looking at my research. Overall it was very fun and exciting knowing that all my hard work was going to be showed to other kids in the school.

The Italian Family that Moved to New Zealand

Why They Moved To NZ -
  • Because Fabio (Dad) got invited for an interview about becoming a Marine Geophysicist.
  • They could have more space for the price of a house in Italy.

Good/Bad Things About The Move -
Good                                                                     Bad
Houses are cheaper here.
There was nothing bad about the move apart from leaving family and friends.
The dad could set up a bank account quickly.
The boys could learn another language.
They had a great view over the harbour

  • The bank helped them set up new accounts.
  • The plane helped them get here.

I would go to Italy because they have pizza’s, pasta and other yummy treats. The language sounds really cool.
